Importing from Source Document

In most instances, research work will be conducted by extracting information from source documents. Source documents refers to the publication documents (gazettes), which have been uploaded onto the platform and need to be linked to their respective works.
These source documents can be found by:
Visting the platform at: https://edit.laws.africa/places
Selecting on the particular country you intend to work on.
On the country dashboard, select on Source Documents.
Select on indexing. All the urls that appear in blue on the left side in the image below, represent a source document.
Once you have selected a source document to index, the platform may in instances where the document is in english, interpret the document and present you with a potential work to be created. this suggestion will usually be on the right of the publication document (possible works) as appears as follows:
You may either choose to manually index the legislation by selecting on the add new work toggle, or by allowing the system to generate the work by selecting create and link new work.
Despite the option you select in (6 above), you will be required to edit and confirm the metadata of the work you are creating, by folllowing the instructions in the Indexing Legislation section
Once you have finished your research, you can select on the finish indexing toggle on the finish indexing button at the top right corner of the screen as illustrated below in order to send the work for review.
